Thanksgiving weekend

Thanksgiving weekend was so great this year. I just love not working and spending every minute with Vince.

Wednesday night, Shane came down from BYU-Idaho, and we all went out to eat at Los Hermanos. I love that place, sometimes. You just have to be in the mood for Mexican food. Afterwards we rented a movie together, Hotel Rwanda. Vince and I had never seen it, but Shane had, and said it was really good. He was right. AWESOME movie. If you haven't seen it, do it!

Thursday, Vince, Shane and I went to Vince's grandparents for Thanksgiving dinner. Oh how I appreciate someone else cooking an amazing meal :). The food was sooo good, and I'm still eating it to this day. ha.

Friday, we didn't even attempt to get up in the morning. Crowded stores is just not our idea of fun. We waited till later on in the day, and went shopping a little. I got a cute new purse...and that is when I called it a successful shopping trip. Later on that day we all went to Rebecca's daughters birthday party. She was turning 2 years old! For her birthday we went and saw the Christmas lights at the temple.

(P.S. A new camera is on my list of things to get soon! -- any suggestions would be great)
Saturday, we of course slept in and did a little more shopping (Ikea, to buy the biggest comforter we could find so we would stop fighting over the covers at night. lol). We had to say goodbye to Shane on Saturday, but hopefully it won't be for too long. It was so nice having him stay with us. I love having family around.
Sunday was great as well. Went to Church, and enjoyed playing with our Nursery kids.
Hope everyone had a great Holiday!

Let's say Thanks

This was on my friends blog (Thrilled by the Thought) and I thought it was great to pass on. It only takes a few minutes.
Let’s Say Thanks program
Let’s Say Thanks is a way for you to very quickly send your
appreciation to a U.S. soldier.
Go to http://www.letssaythanks.com/,
pick a greeting card designed by a child,
choose a message (or write your own) and
Xerox will ship the card to somebody currently serving overseas.
Seriously. It’s that easy.
It costs nothing and it takes less than 2 minutes.
Even though it isn’t quite personal and we
won’t know who will receive our postcard,
I think it will be appreciated.
I think soldiers need reminders that civilians care.
And civilians need reminders that soldiers are doing
an incredibly difficult job.
Take a minute to send a card!
Thanks!

Just a few of Doba Days crazy people...

Wednesday, October 21, 2009

So here is an IM I get from Vince today:
(11:01:25 AM) Vince: would you update our blog please
(11:01:31 AM) Vince: it is our virtual Journal
(11:01:35 AM) Jill: you tell me what to update it with and i will
(11:02:39 AM) Vince: talk about our week and how we saw some puppies, or how.... you know stuff. like our dinner and movie
(11:02:49 AM) Jill : haha ok
(11:02:50 AM) Jill Doba: i will

So I guess I feel obligated to update today.
We haven't done anything too exciting, but we did go camping last Friday night with some friends. Their parents own a motor home, and it was so nice to sleep in there instead of outside on the ground. Vince put his boy scout skills to work and made a great fire, and we cooked tin foil dinners, and roasted s'mores for dinner. Afterwords we watched a movie, and enjoyed the warmth inside. :)

Saturday we went out to eat at Red Robin (our fav!) and rented some movies. It is a weekly tradition for us to rent movies, and eat as much candy as we can until we feel sick. haha. I don't know what is so appealing about that, but we LOVE it. This week we rented

and one other one that I can't remember because it wasn't good. We like to keep up on our movie watching.

That is about all we have been up to. Vince is still busy with school and work, but he likes it. I'm busy with work, and so excited that Doba Day is Friday and we are going to have a blast.

I feel so lame because I never blog.
We have been so busy lately (well ok, Vince has been).
Vince is taking 16 credit (or something like that) and working full time, so I rarely get to see him. The time I do see him, I'm like a puppy dog just following him around hoping for some attention :) ha.
But the good news is he is really liking school.
When he comes home from his EMT class he tells me all about it,
and I love it.

I'm thinking I need to take up some sort of hobby.
I've always had a hard time finding something that I really enjoy doing (that doesn't cost a lot of money!). I've debated taking a cake decorating class...
that sounds like so much fun!
Then I think maybe I should take some sort of dance class,
but I have no idea.
Then I think maybe just sleeping is a good idea after
working all day. ha

The other day we went and saw UP in the dollar theater.
If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.
It is the cutest kids movie I've seen in a while.
(Kinda made me baby hungry being there with TONS of kids).

Also last weekend Vince's aunt Tina got married
in the Bountiful Temple.
It was great to be with his family all weekend.
We had a get together Friday night, and then the wedding Saturday, and Sunday a family dinner. I WISH I had thought to take pictures, but of course I didn't.
Ill be sure to get those up as soon as someone
loads them on facebook :)

And last but not least...I cut my hair.
I've been thinking about it for a while, and Jobi is amazing,
so I Finally did it.

Well that is the update from the King Family.

Our Labor Day weekend was spent...

Sleeping...
Going to the movies with Ben and Jayni...

Buying this sweet Dyson Vacuum...
(because I broke the last one)
And going out to eat with my brother, Shane!

That is probably the majority of the weekend,
but there were other things of course, like homework,
cleaning, vacuuming (of course!), shopping, etc.
It was a great weekend to lay around and not do alot.
I wish every weekend was 3 days :)
